LSC Litters Week 10 Team of the Week with Firmino, Goodrum, Ordóñez Receiving Honors
TAMPA, Fla. — For the first time in club history, three Lexington SC men were named to the USL Championship’s Team of the Week on Tuesday. Nick Firmino, Phillip Goodrum and Arturo Ordóñez all received the weekly honor for the first time this season.
Firmino lit up the scoresheet with his first two goals of the league campaign Friday vs. Monterey Bay FC. Both scores came within five minutes of each other and opened up an early 2-0 lead for the Greens.
The Brazilian also created one scoring chance, completed 87.2% of his passes and won seven of 10 duels.
Goodrum accounted for LSC’s third goal of the match, also his first of the USL-C season. He led all players with eight shots Friday night, six more than anyone else on the pitch. Additionally, Goodrum also led all players with 10 duels won and nine touches inside the opponent’s box.
Ordóñez earned an assist on Firmino’s opening goal, and the center-back also won four of six duels and led Lexington with five clearances. With his Team of the Week mention, he joins Xavier Zengue as the second member of the LSC backline to receive the award this season.

Match Recap: Nick Firmino Nets Brace, Goodrum Finds Scoresheet in 3-1 Victory
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lexington Sporting Club broke out in a big way Sunday night, defeating Monterey Bay FC 3-1. Nick Firmino led the way with two goals, and Phillip Goodrum tacked on a third to seal the victory.
Lexington came out with something to prove. After going winless in its last five league matches, it would not be denied another.
Nick Firmino completed an early brace, needing only 31 minutes to give his club a 2-0 lead. Both goals were scored only five minutes apart.
The first came off a long throw in by Javain Brown. The ball found Arturo Ordóñez in the box, who flicked it on to Firmino at the back post. The Brazilian twisted, turned and fired off a shot to beat the keeper.
His second came off an outside-the-boot pooch from Marcus Epps on the left wing. Firmino effortlessly transferred the pass from his left foot to his right, then buried it.
Lexington concluded the first half with eight total shots and five on target.
At long last, Phillip Goodrum opened his Lexington scoring account in the 56’ minute off the feed from his 2021 and 2022 teammate in Memphis, Aaron Molloy. Molloy laid a bending ball right in the path of a lunging Goodrum who guided the attempt into the bottom corner.
Monterey Bay got one back two minutes later, courtesy of Sebastian Lletget However, Lexington’s three goals were enough to secure the 3-1 victory and propel LSC back into the win column.

Match Preview: LSC to Host Monterey Bay FC on Railbird Fest Night, $1.50 Beer Night Friday
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Greens are back in the Bluegrass Friday night for a primetime Western Conference clash with Monterey Bay FC, presented by Railbird Festival.
Lexington has been entrenched in a difficult run to begin the 2026 season. The club is winless in its last five league matches and could certainly use a win to stop the slide and right the ship.
Over that stretch, LSC has posted 6.34 expected goals, yet only scored three. Overall, the group’s xG sits at nearly 12, five goals higher than its actual goal count.
LSC is creating, it just needs to finish.
If there was ever a perfect situation to stage a turnaround, it could be Friday night.
Lexington’s opponent, Monterey Bay FC, is the only club in the West without a win. On the season, it has been outscored 4-15 and only managed three goals away from home.
Despite the recent results, several Greens rank near the top of the USL-C leaderboards. Blaine Ferri, who was named to the league’s Team of the Week on Tuesday, ranks second in the league in chances created. Additionally, Phillip Goodrum ranks fourth in shots.
The LSC faithful will be out in droves to cheer on the Greens and do their part to propel an early-season turnaround. A large crowd is expected Friday with it being $1.50 Beer Night and Railbird Fest Night, an evening blending soccer with the beloved local music festival.

SCOUTING MONTEREY BAY
Another club looking to turn its season around early is Monterey Bay FC. With zero wins through eight matches and averaging just 0.25 points per match, the second fewest in the league, the club is desperate for a result.
The California side is last in scoring (4), last in conversion rate (8%) and third-to-last in both shots (71) and goals conceded (15).
Paul Gindiri and Wesley Leggett have each scored twice to account for all of Monterey Bay’s scoring, while Omari Glasgow’s two assists lead the club.
In seven starts, goalkeeper Fernando Delgado has posted a 62.1% save percentage. He ranks 13th in the league with 18 saves and has kept one clean sheet.

Lexington SC and Railbird Festival have teamed up for Railbird Fest Night at the stadium Friday.

Blaine Ferri Named to USL Championship Week 8/9 Team of the Week Bench
TAMPA, Fla. — The USL Championship Tuesday named Lexington SC’s Blaine Ferri to the Week 8/9 Team of the Week bench.
Ferri assisted Aaron Molloy’s 6’ minute goal Saturday at Las Vegas Lights. The helper marked his first of the season in league play and his second in all competitions.
He also came inches away from a goal himself, smashing the crossbar on a direct free kick attempt later in the first half.
Overall, the 25-year-old created four scoring chances for LSC and led the club with 21 passes in the final third.
On the other side of the ball, Ferri won all three of his tackle attempts, seven of 10 duels, recorded two interceptions and made five recoveries.
The Team of the Week mention is the club-leading third of the season for Ferri.

Match Recap: Aaron Molloy Scores Third Goal of the Season in 2-1 Loss at Las Vegas Lights FC
LAS VEGAS — Despite leading in shots, shots on target, expected goals and several other offensive stats, Lexington Sporting Club came up short Saturday night in Las Vegas, losing 2-1 to the Lights.
The match got off to a blistering start with two goals in 11 minutes.
Aaron Molloy kicked off the scoring party with his third of the season in the 6’ minute. As he has done twice already this season, the Irishman ripped a shot from 22 yards out that perfectly skipped in front of the Las Vegas keeper. It bounced just right and rolled into goal.
Five minutes later, a Lexington turnover led to another goal from distance, this time off the boot of the home side’s Johnny Rodriguez.
Lexington was dispossessed again in the 38’ minute in its opponent’s half. The action left its backline in a state of disarray, and the man who assisted Las Vegas’ opening goal, Christian Pinzón, completed the transition goal to take the lead.
Head coach Mac Hemmi made a flurry of early second-half substitutions that favored offense for defense in search of an equalizer.
The Lights’ Marc Ybarra was shown a straight red card for a challenge against Aaron Molloy late in regulation, the eighth combined booking of the match, giving LSC a man advantage for its final offensive onslaught.
Ultimately, Lexington was unable to score its second goal, despite creating several chances to do so. A Blaine Ferri direct free kick that rattled off the crossbar and a second-half stoppage time tap-in opportunity that went wide highlighted its highest-percentage chances of the evening.
Lexington fell to 1W-4L-3D on the season with the result.

Match Preview: Lexington Gears Up for USL After Dark with 10:30 p.m. Kickoff at Las Vegas Lights FC
LAS VEGAS — A late-night affair in Sin City awaits Saturday evening when Lexington Sporting Club clashes at Cashman with Las Vegas Lights FC.
Lexington is fresh off a 4-2 win in the Prinx Tires USL Cup, a match that concluded with one of its best 45-minute performances of the season.
The Greens scored three goals in the second half, peppering the goal 10 times and steering six attempts on target. Despite leading on the scoreboard, LSC still retained 60% of possession throughout the period and only 24% of the action was played in its own half.
Xavier Zengue, a full-back who has now lined up as a winger in back-to-back outings for head coach Mac Hemmi, scored his third goal in all competitions vs. Madison to tie Aaron Molloy for the club lead.
Phillip Goodrum, Jacob Greene and Marcus Epps, who logged two assists and was named to the Round 1 Team of the Round, also found the back of the net for LSC.
It was certainly a showing to build off for an offense that has shown inconsistency to begin the 2026 campaign.
Lexington is searching for its first win in league play since March 25.
The club began the season against some of the toughest competition in the USL Championship — a difficult ask for an incoming head coach and roster with 12 new additions.
Lexington has already played the Eastern Conference leaders and the top two clubs in the West. The combined points per match average of Lexington’s first seven league opponents is 1.59.
The combined points per match average of its upcoming three opponents — Las Vegas, Monterey Bay FC and Indy Eleven — is just 0.83.
Although the match will carry into the early hours of Sunday morning, should Lexington be able to build off a strong outing last weekend and carry its momentum into the desert, the long flight back to the Blue Grass Airport could be a very happy one.

SCOUTING LAS VEGAS
The story of Las Vegas Lights FC so far in 2026 is summed up through the parity of its offense and defense.
The Lights have showcased a strong ability to score this season. Their 11 goals are tied for the fourth-highest total in the USL Championship, headlined by Johnny Rodriguez with four and Abraham Okyere with three.
However, Vegas has conceded 15 times, the most in the league.
That combination has shackled the Lights near the bottom of the Western Conference table with 1W-4L-2D record and five points through seven matches. They lead only Monterey Bay FC, Lexington’s subsequent opponent and the only club Vegas has beaten this season, by three points.

Marcus Epps Named to Prinx Tires USL Cup Team of the Round with Goal, Two Assist Performance in Round 1
TAMPA, Fla. — The USL has named Marcus Epps to the Round 1 Prinx Tires USL Cup Team of the Round for his standout performance vs. Forward Madison FC last weekend.
Epps totaled three goal contributions on the evening, scoring in the 68’ minute and assisting goals by Xavier Zengue and Phillip Goodrum.
The Mississippi native was a menace on the left wing all night long. In addition to his role in three of the club’s four goals, Epps put in a full 90-minute shift, logged 52 touches and created three total scoring chances.
Lexington’s 4-2 victory catapulted the club to the top of the Prinx Tires USL Cup Group 4 standings, leading the other two winners from the group last week — Union Omaha and Louisville City FC — on goals scored.
Epps’ Team of the Round nod marks the fifth by a Green this season.

Match Recap: Lexington Sports 4-2 Victory Over Forward Madison to Open Prinx Tires USL Cup Campaign
LEXINGTON, Ky. — It was a topsy-turvy affair Saturday evening at Lexington SC Stadium as the Greens and Forward Madison went back-and-forth to open the 2026 Prinx Tires USL Cup before LSC ran away with it late. Ultimately, Lexington came out on top, 4-2, and featured four different goalscorers on the evening.
After threatening all half and leading in every offensive statistic through the first 38 minutes of play, Lexington finally broke through thanks to Xavier Zengue.
Marcus Epps floated a pass across the box to Zengue at the back post in the 39’ minute. The full-back, who has lined up as a winger in each of LSC’s last two matches, tapped in the delivery for his third goal across all competitions this season.
Forward Madison responded promptly with a corner kick goal with the final action of the half.
Lexington re-took the lead in the 63’ minute when a free kick attempt ricocheted off a Madison defender. The ball fell kindly to Jacob Greene, and the defender took a rip from distance. The shot took a deflection and nestled into the bottom corner of the goal.
The Greens bagged another just minutes later when a searching curler from Blaine Ferri fell perfectly to Marcus Epps at the back post. Epps made no mistake and extended Lexington’s lead to 3-1.
Madison found its second of the match off a Lexington own goal in the 70’ minute, but LSC recaptured the momentum before the final whistle with a Phillip Goodrum goal in second-half stoppage time.
Lexington concluded its 4-2 victory with 12 shots on target, its second-highest total this season, and 18 shots in total.
Lexington moved atop the Group 4 standings with the result. The club’s next Prinx Tires USL Cup match is Saturday, June 6 at Detroit City FC.
