TAMPA, Fla. — Lexington Sporting Club’s Marcus Epps and Aaron Molloy have been named to the Week 25 Team of the Week by the USL Championship for their standout play in the club’s 2-0 win over Las Vegas Lights FC last weekend.
Epps accounted for Lexington’s second goal of the match in the 53’ minute, his third of the season. He totaled three shots overall and was tied for the Lexington lead with four touches inside Las Vegas’ penalty box.
He completed 90% of his passes and was tied for the most on the club with 13 passes into the final third, advancing the ball at a blistering pace. He also completed three dribbles and won possession eight times.
Despite not scoring or assisting, Aaron Molloy found himself alongside Epps for his facilitation and staunchness in the midfield.
The LSC captain won nine of 12 duels to lead all players in the match, and he won possession nine times to also lead all players. Molloy won all eight of his tackle attempts, tallied three interceptions, created one scoring chance and whipped in five crosses.
The Team of the Week honors are the second of the year for Epps and the sixth of the season for Molloy.
