LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lexington Sporting Club has signed center back Kendall Burks to a contract extension, keeping him in the Bluegrass through the 2027 USL Championship season.
Burks initially signed with the Greens in 2025, going on to start 24 of the club’s 30 league matches. His strong presence along the defensive line helped contribute to seven of the club’s eight clean sheets. During his first season with the club, Burks totaled 2,146 minutes and ranked among the club’s top-five players in interceptions (20), while tallying a team-high 124 clearances and 19 interceptions.
“I am excited to spend another year with the club,” said Burks. “It means a lot to me to have the opportunity to continue playing at the Stables in front of the Lexington fans throughout the 2027 season. LexGo!”
As the 2026 season continues, Burks has contributed to all eight of the club’s clean sheets, making 18 appearances across LSC’s 20 league matches played to date.
Burks and Lexington SC are back in action Wednesday, Aug. 26, at New Mexico United.
