TAMPA, Fla. – Khalid Balogun earned USL League One Team of the Week honors for his performance in Lexington Sporting Club’s match against North Carolina FC on Saturday, the league office announced Tuesday.
In a 2-1 defeat, Balogun played all 90 minutes, scoring the club’s first ever non-penalty goal in the fifth minute while also blocking a shot and recording two clearances.
The placement marked Balogun’s first USL Team of the Week honors.
Lexington SC looks to rebound from the defeat in its inaugural Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Louisville City on Wednesday, April 5, in Lynn Family Stadium.
