LEXINGTON, Ky. — After laying a short three-match losing streak to rest last weekend with a commanding 4-1 win on the road, Lexington Sporting Club returns home to host Orange County SC Saturday evening, presented by APHIX.
Lexington’s offensive explosion was a reminder of what its attacking corps is capable of.
Forward Phillip Goodrum scored three times on the night to secure both the third hat trick of his career and the third in LSC club history. It bumped his season total up to seven to lead the club and nine across all competitions.
Blaine Ferri notched two assists to increase his helper number to seven, tied for the second-most in the USL Championship. Marcus Epps scored once and tallied one assist, the 30th of his USL-C career to become the 16th player in league history with 40 goals and 30 assists.
All three players, plus Xavier Zengue, were named to the USL Championship Week 28 Team of the Week, with Goodrum earning Player of the Week honors.
Only six matches remain on the regular season schedule for Lexington — three at home, three on the road, all against Western Conference clubs.
