LEXINGTON, Ky. — Matchday 17 kicks off for Lexington Sporting Club when the Greens host last-place Monterey Bay FC on Saturday evening.
Lexington earned a hard-fought point in a fiery match at FC Tulsa last weekend — due to both the 112-degree heat index at kickoff and the tempers flaring on the pitch. The draw boosted Mac Hemmi’s side’s record to 5W-2L-1D over its last eight matches.
With a victory Saturday, LSC would pick up its 16th point in its last seven matches, tying the club record for most points earned over a seven-match stretch (Aug. 9-Sept. 20, 2025).
Goalkeeper Oliver Semmle and his backline are coming off back-to-back shutout performances, bringing the club’s clean sheet total to six on the season. That number ties Semmle for the second-most in the USL Championship, trailing only Hartford Athletic’s Antony Siaha (8).
Zooming out, Lexington has not conceded a goal in its last 202 minutes played.
LSC’s matchup vs. Monterey Bay FC is the second of the 2026 USL Championship season. Lexington walked away victoriously from the first match, 3-1, courtesy of a brace from Nick Firmino and another goal from Phillip Goodrum.

SCOUTING MONTEREY BAY FC
It has been another rough season for Monterey Bay FC, who finished second-to-last in the Western Conference a year ago and currently round out the conference. The side enters play with a 4W-10L-3D record and a -10 goal differential, tied for the second lowest mark in the league.
Monterey Bay’s 22 goals are also the second fewest in the USL-C, ahead of only Hartford Athletic.
Riley Bidois and Ilijah Paul pace the club with four goals apiece, and Paul’s three assists also tops the Union. Goalkeeper Fernando Delgado has posted a 63.2% save percentage and two clean sheets through nine appearances.

Lexington Sporting Club is hosting the first-ever Lexington SC Brewfest during Saturday’s match. Ten breweries from across Kentucky will be in attendance for fans to try and enjoy. Gates open for VIP access at 4:30 p.m. ET and open for the general public at 5:30 p.m. ET.
