LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington Sporting Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Maren McCrary as the Assistant Soccer Coach for its inaugural Super League team. With an illustrious career spanning years of dedicated coaching and playing experience, McCrary brings a wealth of expertise and passion to one of the nation’s leading sporting institutions.

McCrary’s appointment represents a significant milestone for Lexington Sporting Club as it assembles a coaching team dedicated to shaping a formidable force in the Super League. With a rich coaching history, including serving as the former head coach of College of Saint Mary and as the Midwest Regional Director of the Olympic Development Program (ODP), as well as head coach of the U17 National ODP team, McCrary possesses a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly elevate the team’s performance.
Before joining our ranks, McCrary held positions such as being Technical Director for multiple youth clubs and leagues, as well as Director of Coaching for Nebraska State Soccer. Her multifaceted role within the soccer community, including her experience as a Talent ID/Youth National Team Scout and Youth National Team Assistant Coach, underscores her dedication to identifying and nurturing talent at every level.

In addition to her coaching accomplishments, McCrary boasts an impressive playing career. She was a three-time All-American forward at Brigham Young University, where she became the school’s second all-time leading scorer. McCrary also played professionally for the San Jose CyberRays and Carolina Courage in the WUSA. Additionally, she represented the United States National Team in team handball, earning 15 CAPs and competing in the PanAm Championships.
McCrary’s influence extends beyond national borders, having served as a Sports Diplomat teaching coaches and players in Europe and the Middle East. Her international experience, coupled with her professional playing background in the Women’s United Soccer Association, first women’s professional league in the United States, has been instrumental in shaping her coaching pathway and will undoubtedly enrich the development of Lexington Sporting Club’s players.
