LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington Sporting Club announced today that Bryan Brooks is joining the club as its new Youth Club Director. With an illustrious career spanning nearly three decades in youth sports, particularly soccer, Brooks brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organization.
“I am beyond excited to join Lexington Sporting Club. I’m a firm believer every step in a career prepares you for the next, and that is certainly true with this opportunity. I’ve spent nearly thirty years focused on youth sports, and specifically soccer, and am excited to take every experience and apply what I’ve learned to our growth at Lexington Sporting Club,” said Brooks. “Central Kentucky is in a unique position to have the support to grow a club in both the professional and youth game. It’s an exciting time for families to connect with our club and know we will be able to have an impact on our athletes giving them the best opportunities.”
Before joining Lexington SC, Brooks dedicated 17 years to the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a strong soccer community in Lexington. His contributions extended nationally through his active involvement in the Midwest Region Championship Committee, where he has assisted since 2017, demonstrating unwavering commitment to advancing youth soccer on a broader scale.
“Bryan has been an invaluable member of the management team,” said Jonathan Meersman, US Youth Soccer’s Midwest Regional Champions Program Manager. “He serves as the site manager, overseeing the event at an entire complex. His professionalism and attention to detail are very important as teams and players are competing with aspirations of reaching the US Youth Soccer national championships.”
Brooks’ journey in youth soccer extends back to his time with US Youth Soccer from 1995 to 1999, where he served in various capacities including Event Management Intern and Programs Assistant. He then transitioned to adidas America from 1999 to 2002, where he served as the US Youth Soccer Promotional Manager. Following this, Brooks joined Host Commmunications from 2002 to 2006, where he held roles such as Tournament Director and Tour Director for the gotmilk 3v3 Soccer Shootout, as well as Director of Marketing and Research.
Lexington SC is excited to welcome Brooks to the club. His commitment to building a solid foundation for future success aligns seamlessly with our own values, and we are eager to witness the fruits of his labor as he introduces new initiatives and fosters a culture of excellence within our youth programs.
“We are thrilled to have Bryan joining the Lexington Sporting Club leadership team. He has dedicated a career to youth soccer in Kentucky and is passionate about delivering a best-in-class experience for our youth club participants and families,” said CEO Kim Shelton. “I look forward to working with Bryan to build upon the success of our club.”
With Brooks leading the way, we envision a future where every player has the opportunity to thrive and excel, both on and off the field.
