LEXINGTON, KY. – Lexington Sporting Club appointed Paul Dolinsky as its new USL W League coach and inaugural girls’ pathway director.
Dolinsky, the former USL W League national champion winning head coach for Indy Eleven, comes to the Bluegrass with six years of playing experience with the United States Youth National Team, having been a team captain for the U18s.
With his playing career taking him to the highest level of soccer in the Netherlands, the Dutch Eredivisie, with SC Heerenveen after being a youth player for Feyenoord Rotterdam, Dolinskybriefly played in the United States (MLS) before turning his attention toward coaching.
He got his start in 2013, becoming the head coach for San Diego Surf SC, a youth soccer club in California in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). He also became the club’s camp director and helped lead the squad to a national championship and national semi-final in the ECNL while also being named United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) national champions.
He left Surf SC in 2018, joining Indiana Fire also in the ECNL as head coach, assistant director of soccer operations, and camps director. He led Indiana to multiple playoff appearances during his time with the Fire.
During the summer of 2019 he briefly led Indiana Union in the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) league where he won a conference championship and finished as a national semi-finalist.
Then, in the summer of 2021, he acquired another summer-specific gig, leading Lady Victory FC in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) to a conference championship before the Covid-19 pandemic canceled the playoffs. For his efforts he was named WPSL Coach of the Year.
Most recently, while also serving as a general manager for Sogility-Westfield, a technology-driven training facility to boost the technical and physical ability of athletes, Dolinsky led Indy Eleven in the USL W League to a W League national championship in 2023.
This past season, 2024, Indy finished as undefeated conference champions and were a national quarter finalist.
With the knowledge of what it takes to succeed and the accolades to back it up, Dolinsky will replace former Lexington SC W League head coach Alan Kirkup, who departed the club for retirement at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
He will also help instill a “pathway to pro” for girls’ academy players looking to move into the USL W League ranks with ambitions of potentially one day playing for the club’s USL Super League squad, which will take the field for its inaugural season this fall as a top flight women’ soccer club.
