TAMPA, Fla. — For one final time in 2026, Lexington Sporting Club’s Aaron Molloy has been named to the USL Championship’s Team of the Week. The Irishman appears on the Week 34 bench for his contributions in the club’s 3-3 draw at Phoenix Rising FC over the weekend.
Molloy captured the eyes of USL Championship fans across the nation with a mesmerizing direct free kick goal in the 77’ minute to draw Lexington even with Phoenix. He bent his wonder strike around the wall and dropped it just inside of the keeper’s far post.
The goal is currently nominated for the league’s Goal of the Week.
In addition to his fifth goal of the season, Molloy won possession for the Greens 10 times and tallied 112 touches — both led all players on the pitch. He also won two of his four tackle attempts, tallied 19 final third entries and created one scoring chance.
The Team of the Week honor marks his seventh inclusion of the season, in addition to his Player of the Month award for July.
