GAME NOTES
Lexington SC is facing DC Power FC for the first time in club history. DC Power is the final franchise in the inaugural USL Super League season that LSC has yet to face off against.
LSC is led in its inaugural season by head coach Michael Dickey. Dickey is the club’s first women’s professional coach, with Michelle Rayner serving as women’s sporting director and Ben Willis and Maren McCrary being Dickey’s assistants.
Lexington SC has scored the most goals in the USL Super League after its 2-1 win at Fort Lauderdale United last week. The Greens have logged 12 goals, two more than league leader Carolina Ascent and Dallas Trinity. DC Power has scored the least goals in the league with four.
Madi Parsons leads all LSC goal scorers with four goals on the year following her brace in Florida. Behind her, Sydney Shepherd has three, Marykate McGuire has two, and Kailey Utley, Kim Mendez and Shea Moyer have one each.
Jorian Baucom is the woman to watch for DC Power FC. With the capital squad struggling to come by goals this season, Baucom is the only player to have scored a goal in live-game action this season. The other three DC goals came by way of an own goal and two Madison Wolfbauer penalties. Lexington has shown proficiency with its attack in its recent matches, but tightening down defensively and limiting goals will be pivotal for long-term success in the USL Super League. Not committing penalties and limiting Baucom will go a long way in keeping the Power FC off the score sheet in Audi Field.
