KAMPALA, Uganada — Lexington Sporting Club midfielder Noble Okello has been called up to the Uganda National Team for two upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.
Uganda’s upcoming AFCON qualifying schedule features two matches:
- Thursday, Sept. 24 — Uganda at Tunisia, 3 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, Sept. 29 — Uganda vs. Libya, 12 p.m. ET
The matches will continue Uganda’s preparations for the upcoming AFCON continental championship.
The 6-foot-5 Toronto native earned two caps for the Canadian National Team, making his international debut against Barbados in January 2020. He played for Canada’s U-21, U-20 and U-19 Youth National Teams, and was named to the U-23 provisional roster for 2020 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying.
After switching his international allegiance to Uganda, Okello was called up ahead of two friendlies in the summer of 2026, though those matches were ultimately not played.
Since permanently transferring from Indy Eleven to LSC, Okello has started all five matches, totaling 427 minutes played. He joins Jacob Greene as the second LSC player to receive an international call-up this season, following Greene’s selection to represent Trinidad and Tobago in May.
