TAMPA, Fla. — The USL Championship might as well rename its repeating Team of the Week to simply “Lexington Sporting Club” as for the second consecutive week, four LSC men have been named to the squad, in addition to its head coach.
Phillip Goodrum was named the league’s Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Joining Goodrum in the Week 29 Team of the Week are Nick Firmino, Marcus Epps and Blaine Ferri, who was named to the TOTW bench. Mac Hemmi was also named the Week 29 Coach of the Week.
Goodrum notched his second hat trick in as many weeks in Lexington’s 6-0 stomping of Orange County SC on Sept. 19, the fourth hat trick of the striker’s USL Championship career and the fourth in club history. Three more goals increased his 2026 tally to 10 as Goodrum became the first Lexington player in the USL Championship era to reach double-digit scores. Goodrum now ranks fourth in goals scored in LSC history.
He tallied seven shots on the evening, more than every Orange County player combined.
Nick Firmino joined Goodrum in the Team of the Week after tallying three goal contributions as well. He assisted Goodrum’s first goal and Marcus Epps’ 15’-minute stunner, then scored himself to make it 4-0 Lexington inside 35 minutes of play.
The Brazilian finished the match with five total shots, three chances created, an 86% duel win rate (6/7) and four successful dribbles.
Epps scored and assisted Goodrum’s third goal, his second straight outing with a goal and an assist. His goal was simply magnificent — an outside-the-box, turn-and-fire strike that bent just inside the back post and is currently nominated for Goal of the Week.
Epps created four total scoring chances, completed 88% of his passes and registered four crosses.
Ferri was named to the TOTW bench after assisting Goodrum’s second goal, increasing his total to eight on the season. The midfielder is now tied for the second-most assists in the league and his 12 helpers since joining LSC last season lead the club all-time.
He led all players with five chances created vs. Orange County, seven crosses and a whopping 27 passes in the final third. Ferri also won 100% of his duels (4/4) and completed two successful dribbles.
Finally, LSC head coach Mac Hemmi was named the league’s Coach of the Week, his first of the season and his second overall coaching award. Hemmi was previously named the Gainbridge Super League’s Coach of the Month in November 2025 with the Lexington women.
Under Hemmi, Lexington has outscored its opponents 10-1 over its last two matches and is now in possession of a home playoff match with five matches remaining in the 2026 regular season.
The Team of the Week awards mark the third of the season for Goodrum and Firmino, the fifth for Epps and his third in a row, and Ferri’s eighth.
