
2024/25 Season
Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Maithé López on loan from Angel City FC, on March 27, 2025.
López made her Lexington Sporting Club debut on April 6, 2025 playing 70 minutes against Dallas Trinity FC. She scored her first Lexington SC later that month, heading in the opening goal in a 1-1 road draw against Brooklyn FC.
Before Lexington Sporting Club
Hailing from Bucaramanga, Colombia, López began playing soccer competitively at the age of ten. López scored on her professional debut while playing for Real Santander of Colombia’s Liga Femenina Profesional de Fútbol Colombiano.
López has featured prominently on the international level too. The forward has represented Colombia more than 20 times at the U-17 and U-20 levels. She played a pivotal role in the 2024 U-20 South American Championship, helping Colombia qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Despite being three years younger than many of her opponents, she went on to compete in that tournament on home soil later that fall. López also featured in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
In spring 2025, she earned her first involvement with Colombia’s senior national team as a training player for the SheBelieves Cup.
