Born in Plantation, Florida, Lue Young – a right back – started his career at Weston FC – currently in the USL League Two – before beginning his collegiate career.
During his collegiate years he played for three schools, first starting out at Army West Point before moving to Broward College and ultimately ending up at former NCAA Division-I National Champion Akron.
During his stint with Akron, he signed with Tormenta FC II in USL League Two during the summer — as the league does not remove collegiate eligibility.
After college, Lue Young joined Fort Lauderdale CF, not yet rebranded into Inter Miami II, in the USL League One — where he met Lexington SC head coach Darren Powell, along with teammates Modesto Méndez and Abel Caputo.
Head Coach Darren Powell
“Welcome to Lexington, Christian! He joins after 2 successful seasons in USL1 with NCFC — winning the title this year. His experience will be very valuable to our squad — Christian is a threatening forward who likes to join the attack and times his runs well. Defensively he takes up good positions to intercept, recover and block opponents. Looking for to reconnect with him in Lexington!”
