LEXINGTON, Ky. — On a Lexington afternoon in which temperatures were below freezing, the LSC women and DC Power FC played to a 2-2 draw, extending LSC’s unbeaten streak to 13 to start the season.

DC opened the scoring in the 21′ minute off the boot of its leading scorer, Gianna Gourley.

Forced to play from behind, Lexington began mounting its attack to equalize, eventually finding it in the 40′ minute.

A poor pass from a DC player fell to the feet of an unmarked Taylor Aylmer in the middle of the pitch. She took four touches, then rifled her left-footed shot into the top corner for her first goal of the season.

The Lexington lead did not last long, however, as a long ball from the visitors six minutes later looped behind the last LSC defender and dropped for Gourley. With an outstretched leg, the forward was able to connect just enough to roll the ball slowly into goal.

Just as it did earlier in the match, Lexington fought back to level the score in the 70′ minute. Alyssa Bourgeois unlocked Catherine Barry down the left flank, and Barry delivered to the substitute McKenzie Weinert in the middle of the pitch.

By the time the final whistle sounded, nothing separated the two sides as Lexington extended its streak of draws to three on the bounce.

LSC still commands the top spot in the Gainbridge Super League standings after extended its unbeaten streak to a league-record 14 straight dating back to last season.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Now unbeaten through 13 consecutive matches — and 12 straight to begin the 2025/26 season — the Lexington SC women prepare for a frigid showdown vs. DC Power FC Saturday afternoon. 

It will mark the last home match for LSC in 2025 before the winter break. 

Lexington enters the match after back-to-back 1-1 draws vs. Tampa Bay and Spokane, looking to return to its winning ways. Before the draws, LSC were winners of three straight. 

With her successful penalty take last weekend, Lexington’s Addie McCain became the Gainbridge Super League’s all-time leading scorer with 17 goals. She leads Dallas Trinity FC’s Allie Thornton, last season’s Golden Boot winner, by one goal. 

McCain has seven goals on the season, tying her with teammate Catherine Barry for the second-most in the league. 

Despite two recent low-scoring affairs, Lexington has built a large lead both in the standings and in the scoring column to reign first. The club still sits atop the Gainbridge Super League table, and leads the league with 25 goals and 186 shots. 

Mac Hemmi’s side matched up with DC on Sept. 12 at Audi Field. The two sides played to a 0-0 draw. 

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET. 

SCOUTING DC 

DC Power FC started the season unbeaten through four matches with a 1W-0L-3D record, but has since gone 1W-6L-1D. Over its last eight outings, DC has conceded 12 goals while its offense has only scored 10. 

In the standings, Power FC finds itself in eighth place with 13 points from 12 matches. The club sits one point above Tampa Bay Sun FC who rounds out the league table. 

Gianna Gourley leads the club with six goals, accounting for more than one-third of DC’s 17scores on the season. She also has two assists to her credit, tying her with Emily Colton and Alexis Theoret for the club lead. 

Goalkeeper Morgan Aquino has posted a 64.6% save percentage with 31 saves and one clean sheet.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington SC women extended their unbeaten streak to 13 matches on Saturday, padding onto their Gainbridge Super League record. A late penalty conversion from Addie McCain salvaged a point vs. Spokane Zephyr FC in the 1-1 affair.

Coming into the match, Lexington and Spokane boasted the top two defenses in the Gainbridge Super League, and both were on full display throughout the first half of play. The two sides played to their fifth consecutive scoreless half after two 0-0 draws earlier this season.

Kat Asman was Lexington’s MVP in the first period. The goalkeeper made three critical saves, the first of which denied Spokane’s Lena Silano just 48 seconds into the match.

In the 61′ minute, Emma Jaskaniec opened the scoring for the visitors. It marked just the third time in 12 matches Lexington conceded the first goal.

It took Lexington 28 more minutes to find the back of the net, and once again, it was Addie McCain in the dying moments to conjure a point for LSC.

On the tail end of a breakaway, the substitute Amber Nguyen was shoved inside the penalty area. McCain stepped up to the spot, sent her shot right as the keeper went left, and the rest is history.

The goal marked McCain’s seventh of the season, tying her alongside teammate Catherine Barry for the second-most in the league.

Now unbeaten through the first 12 matches during the current campaign, Lexington broke the league record for the longest unbeaten streak to start a season, formerly set by Carolina Ascent FC in 2024/25.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fresh off setting a Gainbridge Super League record for the longest unbeaten streak in league history, the Lexington SC women are looking to lengthen their record at home vs. Spokane Zephyr FC on Saturday. 

It will mark the third meeting this season between the two sides. 

Lexington SC Stadium has been more than a fortress in 2025/26 — it has been a house of horrors for opponents. The Gals in Green are 4W-0L-2D in the Bluegrass with a gaudy +13 goal differential. 

Overall, LSC’s goal differential on the season sits at +15. Sporting JAX possesses the next best goal differential in the Gainbridge Super League at +2. 

The club remains in first place in the standings, three points clear of JAX, and continues to lead in goals scored (24) and the fewest goals conceded (9). 

Earlier this week, three members of the Lexington crew received Team of the Month honors for their performances in November. McKenzie Weinert and Taylor Aylmer were named to the TOTM Starting XI, and head coach Mac Hemmi was named Coach of the Month. 

Saturday will feature two of the top goalkeepers in the league so far this season, Lexington’s Kat Asman and Spokane’s Hope Hisey. Both are tied for the most clean sheets in the league (5) and rank in the top four in saves (Hisey with 47, Asman with 25). Asman has posted a 73.5% save percentage on the year. Hisey sits at 78.3%. 

The two previous meetings between LSC and Zephyr FC resulted in 0-0 draws, but a retooled Spokane under a new head coach presents a new challenge. 

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET. 

SCOUTING SPOKANE 

At one point this season, Spokane narrowly trailed Lexington at the top of the table. However, its current four-match losing streak has sent the club tumbling into fifth place with more matches played than the rest of the competition. 

Away from home, Zephyr FC has posted a 1W-2L-4D record and scored six times. It has only scored multiple goals on the road once this season — Lexington has scored multiple goals four times in six matches at home. 

The club appointed Nicole Lukic as its new head coach Oct. 7, three days after LSC’s most recent encounter with Spokane. Under Lukic, Zephyr FC is 1W-4L-1D. 

Ally Cook leads the club with four goals while Cameron Tucker ranks first on the squad with two assists.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — As previously agreed upon by Lexington Sporting Club, Orlando Pride and forward Mariana Larroquette at the beginning of the season, LSC has terminated Larroquette’s loan spell. 

The move allows Larroquette to pursue other opportunities following the conclusion of the Pride’s NSWL season.

TAMPA, Fla. — Three Lexington Sporting Club members are representing the crest in the Gainbridge Super League’s November Team of the Month. Head Coach Masaki Hemmi was named the league’s Coach of the Month, and McKenzie Weinert and Taylor Aylmer were named to the TOTM Starting XI. 

The Coach of the Month award is the first honor for Hemmi in his inaugural Gainbridge Super League season. Under his leadership, Lexington extended its unbeaten streak to a league-record 12 consecutive matches. 

On the season, Hemmi has his group atop the league table with a 5W-0L-6D record and a +15 goal differential. The next-best goal differential in the league is +2. 

Weinert started both of Lexington’s matches in November, scoring and assisting on Nov. 15 at Brooklyn FC. Her goal is currently nominated for the Gainbridge Super League’s Goal of the Week. 

Additionally, Weinert recorded an 81.8% passing accuracy mark. 

Aylmer won all four of her tackle attempts throughout the month and 14 of 16 duels. She also logged one interception and created two scoring chances. 

The Team of the Month honors mark the first for Weinert and Aylmer this season.
