
Emina Ekić was announced as a Lexington Sporting Club player on July 18, 2025.
Ekić is a Kentucky native and has played a good portion of her career in the Bluegrass as well. In her junior year of high school, Ekić was named the 2015–16 Kentucky Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of the Year while playing for duPont Manual High School in Louisville.
While attending the University of Louisville between 2017 and 2020, Ekić continued to be a standout player among her peers. She was named ACC Co-Freshman of the Year, as well as being selected to the All-ACC second team and ACC All-Freshman team in her freshman year, earned first team All-ACC team honors in her sophomore, ACC Offensive Player of the Year her senior year.
She was selected fifth overall by Racing Louisville in the 2021 NWSL Draft.
In late 2022, Ekić joined Melbourne City on loan in Austrailia’s A League where she impressed with four goals and one assist over just six matches. Unfortunately while on loan, she broke her ankle and, upon her return to the states missed the start of Racing’s 2023 season. She returned to Melbourne City in late 2023 on a permanent deal but left in mid-2024 to explore opportunities outside Australia.
On July 17, 2024 Ekić joined Spokane Zephyr FC ahead of the club’s inaugural USL Super League season. She immediately made history by scoring the first goal in club history during Spokane’s debut match and never slowed down, showcasing her impact through both scoring and playmaking. Ekić closed out the campaign with 10 goals and six assists and was named USL Super League Player of the Year.
