A graduate of Lafayette High School here in town, Kimball Jackson is a Lexington native who plays outside back and center back. He returns to Lexington Sporting Club after his professional debut in 2023.
Described by some as a late bloomer on the squad, Jackson struggled to find his role on the team, being its youngest member, for a large portion of the 2023 season.
Despite that, when he did take the field, he quickly became a fan favorite, scoring his first professional goal by the end of his first month of play, making his way onto the USL League One Team of the Week and seeing the field with regularity.
Prior to his professional career he played club soccer at Shattuck-St. Mary’s on the U16/17 team before joining FC Cincinnati’s MLS NEXT U19 squad, where he earned “Best XI” honors for his division.
Jackson spent the 2022 season at NCAA Division-I Xavier University.
“I’m really excited to come back this year and continue to build off the momentum that we created last season,” he said. “I can’t wait to play in front of our fans in the new stadium. Feeling blessed to continue with Lexington Sporting Club in my second year as a professional player.”
Sporting Director Sam Stockley
“Kimball is a young player who has huge potential. He can play anywhere across the back line and has been in fantastic environments throughout his youth career. He’s very dynamic and technical on the ball, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to develop him in our system.”
