Lexington Sporting Club announced the official signing of Lexington’s all time leading scorer from the USL W League, Kailey Utley, to the inaugural USL Super League roster pending league and federation approval on Monday, July 1st.
Utley, a veteran forward from St. Louis, Missouri, will stay with the club, making the jump from back to the professional soccer world after leading Lexington in goals in the USL W League in 2023 and contributing heavily to the 2024 season as well.
Utley began her journey in college, suiting up for the West Virginia Mountaineers for four seasons where she was named team captain as a senior.
Her best collegiate season came in 2015 when she scored 12 goals to go along with six assists, notching seven game-winning goals to put her fourth in the country, with her efforts seeing her earn numerous accolades including being featured on the All Big 12 First Team, Big 12 All-Tournament Team, and NSCAA All Region First Team. The Mountaineers would rally all the way to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Starting in 2016 she began appearing with Fire & Ice Soccer Academy until 2019, earning further accolades in her sporting career and regaining captain status, all the while being a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
Her status with the military also saw her participate in the CISM Military Women’s World Cup in 2022. She also joined Pacific Northwest (PacNW) Soccer Club that same year, earning Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors, before helping Lexington SC debut its first ever USL W League squad in 2023.
