Tate Robertson returns to Lexington SC after etching his name into the record books in year one.
Being dubbed the team’s “set-piece maestro,” Robertson scored four goals throughout the season and was the club’s first player to earn USL League One Goal of the Week honors.
Outside of just his lethal scoring ability, Robertson also led the club in assists, amassing eight total, which was enough for second in the entirety of the league. In total, he contributed to 12 goals for the Boys in Green.
Prior to joining the club he amassed several years of experience, including time spent in USL League Two and the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA).
Following his youth career at Ohio Galaxies, Robertson, originally from Springfield, Ohio, stayed in state and was a four-year starter at Bowling Green State University. He earned multiple all-conference honors and finished his career with eight goals and 22 assists in 71 matches.
During and after his tenure at BGSU, Robertson appeared for Dayton Dutch Lions in USL League Two, and more recently played for NISA clubs Stumptown Athletic and Charlotte FC.
“Winning a championship is always the goal,” he said. “Scoring goals and getting clean sheets should be our priority. Having a product on the field that will keep the fans coming back.”
Sporting Director Sam Stockley
“Tate is an attack-minded fullback that fits our player profile very well. He’s technically sound and has sufficient final third entries, possessing a variety of crosses. He’s a solid one-v-one defender, stays patient and calm, and will be a great teammate.”
