A native of Louisville, Ky., Fox graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2016 and, after being Lexington SC’s first ever signing in 2023, was also announced as the club’s first returning player.
Having years of professional experience as a center back, right back and defensive midfielder, Fox started every game for LSC in 2023.
He became the first player to surpass 1,000 minutes played and even made his way into the SportsCenter Top 10 for an acrobatic leaping save he had against Union Omaha.
Prior to joining LSC, he played for FC Tucson in the USL League One from 2021-22 and was their club’s “Player of the Year” in 2021 and the Team Captain in 2022. Fox also has experience playing in the Icelandic professional leagues for Thór and Völsungur.
Fox played at UK from 2013-16, earning his undergraduate degree and multiple Academic Honor Roll accolades while helping the Wildcats to three NCAA Tournament appearances. He finished his collegiate career at St. Francis University in 2017, attaining a Master’s in Business Administration while starting all 18 matches for the Red Flashes.
As a youth player, Fox played first for Javanon SC and then in town for Lexington FC and won back-to-back Kentucky High School Athletic Association state titles with St. Xavier High School (2011-12). He would win Kentucky Player of the Year as well as the title of Mr. Soccer in 2012.
“I am thrilled to continue this journey with LSC in year two and look forward to meeting the new faces within the club for pre-season,” he said. “Together, we will set our sights on new goals and will be pushing for hardware! See you all on the field.”
Sporting Director Sam Stockley
“Kaelon is a fantastic leader both on and off field, and has played in over 50 professional matches in USL League One, so his experience is invaluable. He is very calm and composed on the ball, and will be a good mentor for our younger professionals as well as an excellent player for this football club.”
